This Bechstein Model 8 upright piano dates from around 1906 and is presented in a fully restored condition. The mahogany cabinet has been recently French polished, giving a deep, even finish that highlights the grain and period detailing without appearing overworked. The case is tall and well proportioned, with clean lines and a solid presence that suits both traditional and contemporary interiors.

This particular piano is defined by its bass register. The lower notes are powerful, deep and well supported, giving the instrument a sense of scale that is rarely matched by smaller uprights and comfortably exceeds the bass response of many baby grand pianos. The middle register is clear and direct, and the treble remains focused and controlled. The touch is firm and consistent, offering good feedback and stability across the keyboard, typical of large early 20th century German uprights.

Taken as a whole, this is a substantial, restored Bechstein upright with a strong tonal foundation, practical musical authority and a cabinet finish that reflects the quality of the work carried out.
